Rosé and ENHYPEN, Win Grand Prizes… IVE Takes Home 3 Awards [2025 MAMA]

Day 1 of ‘2025 MAMA’ held amidst the Hong Kong fire tragedy. Cortis (코르티스) and Hearts2Hearts (하츠투하츠) win the Best New Artist awards.

The ‘2025 MAMA AWARDS’ was held on the 28th at 7:30 PM (all times KST) at the Kai Tak Stadium in Hong Kong. Actor Park Bo-gum hosted the first day, and many artists who lit up the K-pop scene this year appeared and graced the stage.

However, the event on this day was held in a calmer and more solemn atmosphere than usual. This was because a major fire broke out in a high-rise apartment complex in the Tai Po district of northern Hong Kong on the 26th, raising the possibility of postponement or cancellation. The host company, CJ ENM, canceled the red carpet event and proceeded with the main awards ceremony on a somewhat reduced scale.

Park Bo-gum, who opened the show, expressed his sincerity, saying, “I express my deepest condolences to all those who have lost precious lives, as well as their beloved family and friends, due to this accident. I earnestly hope there will be no further harm.”

The highest honor of the day, ‘Song of the Year,’ was awarded to ‘APT.’ by Rosé and Bruno Mars. Rosé, who did not attend the ceremony, said via video message, “I am so grateful to the fans who have given me so much love this year. I will continue to work hard to be a Rosé who brings you great music.”

Another Grand Prize decided by fan votes, ‘Fans’ Choice of the Year,’ went to ENHYPEN. Along with ‘Therasa Favorite Global Artist’ and ‘Fans’ Choice,’ ENHYPEN achieved a triple crown. They stated, “We are so thankful to our ENGENE (fandom name). We will continue to show you great things so you can be proud of the name ENGENE.”

The ‘Best New Artist’ award went to Kortis and Hearts to Hearts. Kortis said, “The Best New Artist award is so meaningful because it’s something you can only receive once in your life. We are so grateful to the fans who have always supported us so we could receive this award.”

Hearts2Hearts said, “We debuted in February, and our goal for this year was to receive the Best New Artist award. We are so happy and honored. All of this was possible because the eight of us were together. We will continue to look towards the same goal and climb even higher as eight members.”

SUPER JUNIOR received the ‘Inspiring Achievement’ award, given to a legendary artist who has inspired many others. SUPER JUNIOR stated, “In the past, we thought winning first place and the Grand Prize was the most important thing. But now, we believe what’s important is how much we love this work and how long we can last while coexisting with our fans. We hope to continue creating miracles in the name of love.”

The ‘2025 MAMA AWARDS’ will continue with its Day 2 ceremony on the 29th at 7:30 PM at the Kai Tak Stadium in Hong Kong.
