Celebrating its 40th anniversary, the ‘Golden Disc Awards’ has revealed its second artist lineup, which includes BLACKPINK’s JENNIE.
On the 27th, HLL JoongAng, the host and organizer of the ‘Golden Disc Awards’, announced the second artist lineup, stating, ‘On January 10th of next year, MONSTA X, BOYNEXTDOOR, Stray Kids, ARrC, ATEEZ, JENNIE, Close Your Eyes, Kiiikiii, and TWS will perform at the “40th Golden Disc Awards”.’ With this, following the first lineup of LE SSERAFIM, IVE, NCT WISH, ENHYPEN, ALLDAY PROJECT, IZNA, ZEROBASEONE, and CORTIS revealed on the 26th, a total of 18 teams have been confirmed to appear.
MONSTA X, who creates legendary stages every time they appear at the ‘Golden Disc Awards’, has been named in the second artist lineup. The group, who won the Best Group award with a powerful performance at the ’35th Golden Disc Awards’, will return to the meaningful stage after five years to showcase their ‘master performance’ skills. As they received great love for their full-group comeback after five years with the mini-album ‘THE X’ celebrating their 10th debut anniversary this year, anticipation is high for what kind of experienced and polished performance they will present on the ‘Golden Disc Awards’ stage after a long time.
BOYNEXTDOOR, who achieved a ‘career high’ this year, will also appear at the ‘Golden Disc Awards’. They had the honor of their first Golden Disc win at the ’38th Golden Disc Awards’, receiving the Next Generation Award. After achieving their third consecutive ‘million-seller’ with their 5th mini-album ‘The Action’ released last month, they were nominated for the Digital Song Bonsang (Main Prize) with ‘Only Today I LOVE YOU’, released in January, which has consistently ranked high on major music charts. They solidified their global presence by performing at ‘Lollapalooza Chicago’ in August. Having received a great response from numerous fans during their visit to Taipei in April as part of their first solo tour, they are expected to captivate music fans once again in Taipei.
Stray Kids will return to the Golden Disc Awards after two years. It is especially meaningful as this is the first time Stray Kids will be performing in Taipei. They previously won the Album Bonsang (Main Prize) and the Global K-Pop Artist Award at the ’38th Golden Disc Awards’. They also won the Album Bonsang at the 39th awards. Since then, Stray Kids has grown into a ‘world-class idol’. They successfully completed their ‘largest-ever’ world tour with 56 shows in 35 regions at home and abroad, and set records such as holding their first solo stadium concert in Korea. Their chart performance was also brilliant. They became the first artist in the 70-year history of the US Billboard’s main album chart, the ‘Billboard 200’, to have seven consecutive albums debut at number one. They are expected to heat up the hearts of global fans through the Golden Disc Awards.
ARrC will perform on the Golden Choice Stage. The group, which gained attention for appearing in the ‘Golden Disc Awards’ first original web content ‘Golden Choice – From an Unfamiliar Name’, will present an impactful performance on the Golden Choice Stage, which introduces talented and potential-filled rookies to the global stage. ARrC, the first boy group and a multinational group introduced by Mystic Story last August, has captivated numerous countries from Vietnam to Indonesia and Brazil with their original musicality and performances. They aim to make a strong impression on global fans once again at the Golden Disc Awards stage held at the Taipei Dome.
The attendance of ATEEZ is also highly anticipated. ATEEZ, who won the Album Bonsang (Main Prize) at the ’39th Golden Disc Awards’, has swept global charts, including the US Billboard, with two albums this year and successfully entered the Billboard main singles chart, the ‘Hot 100’, gaining support from the global fandom. Befitting their ‘global trend’ status, they were nominated for the Album Bonsang. ATEEZ, who showcased their expanded skills by holding solo concerts in North American stadiums, will return to Taipei after about two and a half years since their 2023 Asia tour. Attention is already focused on what kind of performance they will show on the Golden Disc stage.
‘World class’ JENNIE will also attend, raising expectations. This is her first time performing as a solo artist in Taipei, making the news of her appearance a surprise gift for fans. JENNIE, who made a splash with her impressive first solo full-length album and even performed at the ‘Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival’ in the US last April, is spending a busy second half of the year on a large-scale world tour with the full BLACKPINK group. JENNIE received a passionate response for her performance of her first solo song ‘SOLO’ at the ’33rd Golden Disc Awards’ and won the Digital Song Bonsang (Main Prize) for this song at the ’34th Golden Disc Awards’. Returning to the Golden Disc as a solo artist after seven years, JENNIE has been nominated for both the Album and Digital Song Bonsang with her full-length album ‘Ruby’ and title track ‘Like JENNIE’, proving her status as a global trendsetter.
Close Your Eyes will also take the Golden Choice Stage. As the debut group from JTBC’s ‘PROJECT 7′, they are returning to the Golden Disc Awards for the second consecutive year after their glorious first stage at the ’39th Golden Disc Awards’. Close Your Eyes won two music show awards with their debut album title track ‘All the Poems and Novels Inside Me’ in April, and three music show awards with their 2nd mini-album title track ‘Snowy Summer’ in July. They also reached number one with ‘X’, one of the double title tracks from their 3rd mini-album ‘blackout’ released on the 11th of last month, emerging as a ‘trending rookie’. Having made their mark through ‘Golden Choice – From an Unfamiliar Name’, which seeks out shining gems, they aim to capture the hearts of global fans at the Taipei Dome this year.
Kiiikiii will make her first appearance at the ‘Golden Disc Awards’. Kiiikiii, who first stepped into the music industry with the pre-release single ‘I DO ME’ last February, captivated the public with her solid skills and free-spirited energy upon her official debut in March, earning nominations for both the Rookie Artist of the Year and Digital Song Bonsang (Main Prize) at the ’40th Golden Disc Awards’. After a busy period releasing her first digital single album ‘DANCING ALONE’ in August, she plans to give an unforgettable first greeting to the audience through the ‘Golden Disc Awards’.
TWS is set for their first full-group visit to Taipei through the Golden Disc Awards. TWS became a ‘trending rookie’ at the ’39th Golden Disc Awards’, winning both the Rookie Artist of the Year and the Digital Song Bonsang (Main Prize) with their debut song ‘plot twist’. Known for their fresh, boyish ‘Boyhood Pop’ and their signature ‘refreshing beat’, they have shown step-by-step growth this year by releasing their 3rd mini-album ‘TRY WITH US’ and 4th mini-album ‘PLAY HARD’, further expanding their musical world. After finishing their first solo concert in Korea last June, they have been expanding their activities by successfully entering the Japanese market since July. TWS plans to record a special moment at the ’40th Golden Disc Awards’ at the Taipei Dome before continuing their active schedule with a tour in the Greater China region in January.
Meanwhile, the ’40th Golden Disc Awards’ will be held at the Taipei Dome on January 10, 2026.
