The group ENHYPEN has won their first ‘MAMA AWARDS’ Grand Prize trophy.
On the afternoon of the 28th, the ‘2025 MAMA AWARDS’ was held at the Kai Tak Stadium in Hong Kong. The host for Chapter 1 on the first day was actor Park Bo-gum. On the 29th, Chapter 2 will take place with actress Kim Hye-soo as the host.
On this day, one of the ‘MAMA AWARDS’ Grand Prizes, the ‘Fans’ Choice of the Year’, went to ENHYPEN. This is also ENHYPEN’s first ‘MAMA AWARDS’ win. The winner for this category is selected based on 90% from Mnet Plus votes and 10% from Twitter (X) votes, with an additional 10% from real-time Mnet Plus votes conducted on the day of the awards ceremony.
As soon as ENHYPEN got on stage, they shouted “ENGENE! (fandom name)” in a loud voice and showed tears. They then said with teary eyes, “Honestly, since debuting and throughout my life, this is the first time I’ve ever wanted something so much. We are so, so grateful to our ENGENE. Words can’t express it, but thank you so much. We will continue to show you great things so you can be proud of the name ENGENE.”
They continued, “We want to say thank you so much to our Producer Bang Si-hyuk and Mr. Kim Tae-ho for not viewing us as a product or from a business perspective, but for respecting each and every member as a person and helping us become good people. To our BELIFT LAB family, we love you so much,” expressing their gratitude to their agency family.
They added, “In two days, it will be our 5th anniversary, and we think of this as a 5th-anniversary gift from you, ENGENE. We’ve had so many fun, moving memories with ENGENE, laughing and crying together, and now after 5 years, it feels like we’re receiving all that back at once as a gift with this award. To our ENGENE, thank you so much. We will work even harder in the future. We always love you,” expressing their affection for their fans.
Also, choking up, one member stood before the microphone and said, “I couldn’t even imagine this. As soon as our name was called, I was so overcome with emotion that the tears just started flowing endlessly. I wonder if I’m someone who deserves to be in this position, and it makes me think of all the moments we’ve run so hard to get here. There are so many people who work hard for us, and we’ve also worked really hard, so it feels like we’re receiving a precious gift and being rewarded, and for that, I’m so, so grateful. This is a moment I’ve dreamed of so much, and I’m so thankful just to be able to stand here,” bursting into tears.
Meanwhile, on the 26th, a large fire broke out at the ‘Wong Fuk Court’ high-rise apartment complex in Tai Po, Hong Kong. As of the afternoon of the 28th, the death toll was 128, with 79 injured. The host, CJ ENM, has arranged a time for mourning in line with the local atmosphere of condolence and has decided to make a donation to support the victims.
