CORTIS’s Debut Album Becomes a Million-Seller, ‘The Only One This Year’

BIGHIT MUSIC's new rookie group CORTIS (코르티스) has set a major record by 'achieving million-seller status with their debut album.'

According to the latest weekly album chart (tracking period: Nov. 16-22) released by Circle Chart on the 27th, their debut album ‘COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES’ has surpassed ‘1.06 million copies’. This was achieved within three months of its release, making them the only rookie group that debuted this year to record a million-seller with a single album. This success is even more meaningful as the five members were deeply involved in the production of their debut album.

The debut album also surpassed 100 million cumulative streams (as of October 12th) on Spotify, the world’s largest music streaming platform, and the intro track ‘GO!’ achieved an ‘all-kill’ on Melon’s daily, weekly, and monthly charts.

CORTIS’s momentum is also being observed in North America, one of the two major meccas of K-pop. Their debut album ‘COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES’ entered the U.S. Billboard’s main album chart, the ‘Billboard 200,’ at number 15, setting the ‘best record for a debut album’ by any K-pop group in history, excluding project groups.

CORTIS also proved their true value as a mega-rookie by becoming the ‘first’ K-pop artist to sign a partnership with the famous beverage brand ‘Red Bull’.

CORTIS is a new 5-member boy group from BIGHIT MUSIC, the agency behind BTS and TOMORROW X TOGETHER. They have garnered attention as the rightful heir to BIGHIT MUSIC’s ‘boy group lineage’ and for ‘reaffirming’ the agency’s undefeated legacy.
