Entertainer Park Na-rae’s side, accused of power abuse (‘gapjil’) by former managers, has refuted the allegations of their misconduct.

An official from Park Na-rae’s side explained the situation in a phone call with ‘Sports Kyunghyang’ on the afternoon of the 5th, outlining Park Na-rae’s general position and stating that the former managers had been continuously blackmailing her regarding various aspects of her private life.

Park Na-rae’s side stated, ‘First, we apologize that our statement was delayed as we were working to ascertain the exact facts. Two employees who worked with Ms. Park Na-rae for about one year and three months recently resigned and received their severance pay. However, they then additionally demanded 10% of the company’s revenue from the previous year.’

They also added, regarding the recent issue of the delayed registration for the popular culture and arts planning business, ‘This was handled by the employee who raised the issue. We have determined that they falsely reported at the time that the registration process was complete.’

Park Na-rae’s side stated, ‘As time went on, they made new claims, alleging that medical procedures conducted through proper channels were illegal, and have been demanding money and applying pressure by tipping off the media.’

They continued, ‘Regarding the delay in registering the popular culture and arts planning business, we are swiftly proceeding with the proper legal procedures and will not evade responsibility for our operational shortcomings. However, we have judged that we cannot be swayed by one-sided demands amid unnecessary misunderstandings and pressure, and have decided to take legal action.’

It has been reported that Park Na-rae’s side has hired a law firm to accurately assess the situation and has also confirmed the managers’ misconduct. Her side added, ‘We have currently confirmed a case of embezzlement by the former managers amounting to approximately 25 million won and are exploring how to respond.’

Previously, Park Na-rae was accused by her former managers of causing them injury. It was reported that the managers recently filed a lawsuit for damages against Park Na-rae, alleging assault and suspicion of proxy prescriptions, and applied to the court for a provisional seizure of her real estate.
